Community Art Project

Exhibition 12th December 2013 at TX

This term the Year 6 pupils have been very busy with their community partner school, Poussieres de Vie; working hard on an Art project under the skillful guidance of Ms Charlie. The project has been based around traditional Vietnamese art styles and has seen the children work enthusiastically to produce some excellent pieces. As this project draws to a close, the work that the children have completed is to be displayed in the foyer at TX on Thursday 12th December from 7:30am until 2:00pm. Each class will get the opportunity to visit the exhibition throughout the day, where Year 6 children will guide visitors around and explain the methods used. Parents will be able to visit the exhibition when they are in school from 7:30 onwards.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed working with their community partners and can be very proud, not only of the work they have produced, but also how well they have worked and mixed with the children from Poussieres de Vie. Aside from meeting new friends and developing their art skills, the very serious aim to the project was to raise funds to buy art resources for the Poussieres de Vie children. In order to do this, at the exhibition there will be the chance for children and parents to buy postcards, stickers and greetings cards produced from the children’s art work, as well as the once in a lifetime opportunity to buy the original art works themselves, at incredibly reasonable prices. All the items would make fantastic Christmas presents for lucky family members and friends.

In order to purchase from the exhibition, children need to buy tokens from the Year 6 children in the foyer before school next week in the build-up to Thursday’s exhibition. These can then be ‘spent’ when the children visit the exhibition. The cheapest items will be sold for 10000vnd with other items costing 20000 and 30000vnd. It should be remembered that the sale is to make money for our community partners not TX. The Year 6 children thank you for your support.
